History and Description
Kappl’s roots date back to the 14th century, with the first official mention recorded in 1370. The village owes its unique name to the word “kapel”, which refers to the historic St. Anthony’s Chapel, around which the community originally grew. Historically, the area was dependent on agriculture and crafts, and many locals worked as migrant workers in southern Germany during the harsh winters.
Today, Kappl has developed into a modern tourist destination without losing its authentic Tyrolean soul. The area offers traditional Alpine villas, cozy apartments and luxury holiday homes with panoramic views of the valley and mountains.
