History of Kokorin
Kokorin’s history stretches back to the Middle Ages, with the construction of Kokorin Château in the 14th century as a defensive fortress. It was originally built to protect the region from invasions and to oversee trade routes. Over the centuries, it served various noble families, including the Smirický family, who contributed to its expansion and embellishment.

The village itself was historically a rural and agricultural settlement. During the Renaissance and Baroque periods, it saw the construction of churches and estate buildings that still add to its charm today. In the 19th and 20th centuries, the region experienced modernization, but Kokorin retained its historical and natural appeal.
